Harry P. Braunstein, Esq.

Partner

It is with great sadness that we reflect on the life and work of Harry Braunstein, a founding Partner of Braunstein Turkish LLP, who passed away.

Harry was admitted to the New York and Federal bar in 1975. He practiced with the Wall Street law Firm Herzfeld & Rubin, P.C. for over twenty years, ultimately becoming head of its Real Estate Group. Driven by an entrepreneurial spirit and a vision for a client-focused practice, he departed to establish Braunstein Turkish LLP together with Bill Turkish, laying the groundwork for the successful practice we operate today.

For over 35 years Harry gained experience not only as an attorney but as a business and real estate principal. Throughout his career, Harry represented several commercial and savings banks in the New York metropolitan area. He also served on the board of directors and loan committee for one of his bank clients for over 20 years, ultimately becoming Chairman of the Board.

Over the years, Harry represented owners of retail and commercial real estate in the Tri-State area in complex acquisitions, re-financings, leasing, and sales. He and members of the Firm acted as Counsel on numerous matters in the United States for a London based owner of US Commercial real estate assets valued well in excess of $1 Billion. In addition, Harry acted as general counsel to a multi-unit franchise group that owned over 40 restaurants in three different franchise systems in the New York metropolitan area.

Beyond his professional achievements, Harry was a beloved figure within our halls. He treated every member of the team like family and approached every challenge with a thoughtful perspective and a sharp wit. His absence leaves a void that cannot be filled.
